"Purple Storm, Serenity, Aloha, Believe, The Heat is on, Breaking Free, Lost Emotions, Tears of Fire”
My life was “…melting, melting, MELTING!” and like Dorothy, I was off on a journey and instead of meeting the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, I got to meet multiple concussions, impending divorce, and loss of close family and friends.
Then, instead of finding the wizard, I found me. Rather than melting myself, I began melting Crayola Crayons when Emily, my daughter, showed me how to apply wax to canvas using a blow dryer and a fork.
This was all I could focus on for a while, helping me as art therapy; where I could take physical and emotional pain and turn it into something colorful and bright. I didnt know it than, but the seeds of Alisas True Colors were being planted to help me learn & adapt to the new me.
